We’re deeply saddened to learn of the passing of HH Bhaktikavi Atulananda Swami.

He was a great friend of ours here at The Hare Krishna Project and was interviewed by Narada Prabhu on Episode 108 of #TheHareKrishnaProject Podcast in February 2024.

A disciple of A.C Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada, he served in the Hare Krishna movement for over 50 years!

The son of a diplomat, he was born in Santiago de Chile but grew up in different countries.

He was the Founder-Acharya of the Sarasvat Gaudiya Seva Congregation in Chile, with several branches inside and outside the country.

Since the early 1990s, he had published his books, essays on bhakti-yoga, devotional poems, and poetic translations into Spanish of essential Vaishnavism books and songs.

One of his main books in English is Bhagavad Gita: A Poem for the Soul (2018).

He was a committed and devout follower of Krishna Consciousness, and an inspiration to thousands of people around the world. We will be sorely missed.

The whole team here at The Hare Krishna Project passes on our thoughts, prayers and condolences to the disciples, friends and wellwishers of HH Bhaktikavi Atulananda Swami.

“He reasons ill who tells that Vaishnavas die when thou art living still in sound! The Vaishnavas die to live, and living try to spread the holy name around!”

- Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakur
