In 2026, The Hare Krishna Project established its second branch outside of the UK in Nigeria.

Led by Dira Lalita, the project distributes books in the southwestern part of the country, ensuring that Nigerians have access to Krishna Conscious literature and information.

 
Dira has been a follower of The Hare Krishna Project since 2025, and became impressed by the initiative’s grassroots approach to preaching, its book distribution programme and the strong focus on inclusion and acceptance of others.

Born and raised in Nigeria, Dira has been following the teachings of Srila Prabhupada since birth.

An enthusiastic advocate for education, and teaching others about bhakti yoga, she is dedicated to sharing the message of The Hare Krishna Project with people living in her community.
